Each student at Ferndale Community School is a member of a school ‘House’. They have an opportunity in each lesson to earn Focus (F) Commitment (C) and Success (S) points. These FCS merit points are recorded by the school computer system and added to the ‘House’ points. The students reward system is directly linked to how FCS merits they collect.
Additional House points can be collected by good attendance and by students competing in additional House competitions such as ‘Sports Day’ and ‘Summer Showcase’.
Throughout each year there are numerous activities where students, staff and governors have the chance to earn points for their respective houses for a chance to compete for the House Trophy which is presented at the end of the year.
The House Patrons were voted for by the School Council. Each house patron was chosen by students because they were seen as Welsh role models.
