Year 7 Visit

To consolidate work done on Life in the Medieval Village, Year 7 pupils were given first hand experience of a unique Norman settlement near Penarth. The Medieval village has been reconstructed from the foundations of the original and it provides an authentic glimpse into the past. Pupils enjoyed the experience of a guided tour by characters that may have lived in the village in 1350.

Henry Hogg and Elspeth (the baker’s wife) provided great entertainment by remaining in character throughout the tour. They also provided students with a wealth of information about the role of different people within the village, medieval weaponry and bread making. Pupils were able to dress up in medieval armour and have a go at making Pandemain bread using traditional methods.
